ASSOCIATE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ATTORNEY

Thus, Schmeiser, Olsen & Watts is committed to increasing the skills, experience and knowledge base of our associates.
Our goal is to ready all associates for becoming future partners of the firm. Associate intellectual property attorneys are given the opportunity to handle sophisticated work and client responsibilities early in their career. We welcome resumes from exceptional lawyers and recent law school graduates who have an undergraduate degree in biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, or other scientific or technical disciplines and are interested in growing with us.
TECHNICAL ADVISOR
In order to fully meet the needs of our clients and provide them with the high quality of service that they’ve grown to expect, Schmeiser, Olsen & Watts enlists the services of skilled Technical Advisors. Our Technical Advisors are exposed to a wide array of activities as they assist intellectual property attorneys in patent procurement, prosecution and intellectual property litigation.
Qualified applicants will hold a Masters or Bachelors degree in one of the sciences, engineering, or technically related disciplines. A desire to attend law school is preferred, but not required. Additionally, the ability to sit for and pass the United States Patent and Trademark Office exam is strongly recommended.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW CLERK
Schmeiser, Olsen & Watts periodically recruits exceptional individuals while they are attending law school. They must possess undergraduate degrees in science or engineering and have an interest in eventually becoming patent attorneys. A flexible part-time schedule is available during the school year.
Our law clerks are generally trained in the area of patent procurement, but may also gain experience in other aspects of the practice, including certain aspects of intellectual property litigation. Competitive candidates will have advanced degrees in science or engineering and be enrolled in a local law school.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PARALEGALS
Schmeiser, Olsen & Watts offers its paralegals competitive salaries as well as excellent benefits. The intellectual property law paralegals work closely with our patent attorneys and are encouraged to assume responsibility as it relates to the cases on which they are working. They are required to be well organized, highly motivated, and possess extensive experience in or a strong desire to work in the practice of intellectual property law.
